INVOCATION
Lord God,
Because of all the ways You have blessed us in the past, and all the ways You continue to bless us, we know beyond all doubt the nature of Your Holy Spirit is that of universal love. We know, and take comfort in the fact that Your love for each one of us is always faithful, always pure, always true, always generous, always unselfish—and always the same.
Lord, we ask that You will be with us, guide us, and strengthen us so that we can be more nearly like You, and live more in tune with Your will each day. Give us the hearts and spirits we need so that we can love You, our families, our compatriots, our friends, and our country with all our hearts, minds, souls, and strength.
Lord, we pray for your blessings on all who are with us today as our guests. Please be with them and guide them as they do their work for You, our country, our state, and our community. May their decisions be wise and fair, and their lives be happy and content.
As always, Lord, we ask your special blessings on those who are sick or injured, those who are lonely, those who are grieving, those in the service of our country&and especially those who are serving in harms way. AMEN
