Lord God Almighty,
In this very special season of the year, we honor and celebrate the birth of Jesus. During this season, we traditionally indulge in both the joy of old memories and the hope of new expectations.
We remember, Lord, how gracious are the many blessings you have given us. You have given us grace-that most priceless of gifts-by which we are saved through faith. You have given us not only your unchanging love, but also the love of family and friends-the precious and vital part of our lives that makes living beautiful and worthwhile. It is all the love in our lives, Lord, that enhances our good times and sustains us in the challenging times. You also have given us, the gift of hope that one day there will be peace on earth and good will among people everywhere.
Thank you, Lord, for the blessings of freedom in our lives, in our country, and in the lives of all whom we hold dear. Please hold safely in the palm of Your hands, our loved ones, our compatriots, our friends, and all those serving our country, so that as long as You give us breath and strength, we may continue to serve You and others. AMEN
