







Joe Hardiman has passed away.
Bonnie Hardiman reported tonight that her husband, Joe Hardiman died this morning. (Saturday, April 5)
The funeral service will be Tuesday, April 8, 11 AM at the Gulf to Lake Baptist Church, Hwy 44, 1/2 mile east of Publix.
Joe served Withlacoochee Chapter recently as Editor of our Newsletter ans as 2nd Vice President.
Joe Willie Hardiman, 65, Crystal River, died Saturday, April 5, 2008, at Seven Rivers Regional Medical Center after battling cancer. He was born Aug. 2, 1942, in Louisville, Ky. He lived in Florida for more than 35 years. For the past 12 years, he lived in Crystal River with his wife, Bonnie. Mr. Hardiman served two terms in the U.S. Air Force, and served in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969. He graduated from Ahrens Trade High School and attended Jefferson Community College in Louisville, Ky. After moving to Florida, he attended the University of South Florida, majoring in business. He retired from Pasco County government as a computer analyst manager. He also retired from Hospice of Citrus County as an IT manager. He was an honorary Kentucky colonel, a member of the Sons of the American Revolution, the American Legion, Crystal River Users Group and a volunteer at Rock Crusher Elementary. He also volunteered with the Boys and Girls Club of Citrus County. He was an avid genealogy researcher. He was a basketball fan and enjoyed participating in the voting process as a precinct worker. He was a member of Gulf to Lake Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Ruby Hardiman of Louisville, Ky. Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Hardiman; sons, David Hardiman and Heather of Orlando, and Michael Lewis and Virginia of Douglasville, Ga.; daughters, Elisa Hardiman and fiance Fabio of Orlando, and Kelley Paul and Tracy of Crystal River; grandchildren, Serenade Hardiman, Haven Hardiman, Kaitlyn Lewis, Austin Lewis, Christian Paul and Jesse Paul; sisters, Sarah Thomasson and John of Kingsport, Tenn., Etha Sanders and Louis of New Bern, N.C., and Gloria Jenkins of Louisville, Ky; brother, David Hardiman of Louisville, Ky; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, aunts and friends.
