The books were presented in memory of our departed members John Lee Tucker and William B. Gemmill Jr. They will be placed in the Genealogical Collection, Military History Section.
Framed Copy of the Constitution of the United States of America Presentations

On Tuesday, November 27, 2012, Members of The Withlacoochee Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution
presented a framed copy of the "U.S. Constitution" to Ms. Mary LeDoux, Principal, Brooksville Elementary School,
Brooksville, Florida.
Prior to and following the presentation a gathering of Ms. Melinda Heater's 5th Grade Class was gathered in the
court yard with an emphasis on a question and answer session. Ms. Melinda Heater's 5th Grade class were picked to receive
this document because of their outstanding participation in our National SAR 5th Grade Poster Contest.
The Withlacoochee Chapter Sons of the American Revolution hopes to make more such presentations in the future.
The enactors answered questions by the students on the history of the American Revolutionary War, different
military attire, youngest documented Patriots, meaning and establishment of the U.S. Constitution, lineage and
eligibility for membership into the National Sons of the American Revolution.
On Monday, September 10, 2012, Jack Townsend and Bill Teater presented a framed copy of the "U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights" to Ms. Lorna Eastman, Citrus Springs Library Manager and Ms. Jane Mazzacua, President Citrus Springs Library Association.
Prior to and following the presentation, a tour of the Library was given by Ms. Mazzacua with emphasis on the Libraries extensive Genealogy Section, one to the largest in Citrus County and one the Library Association is very proud of. Genealogy workshops, children programs, art skill improvements, as well as many other programs and events are held at the Library for all to enjoy. The Library is having a Book Sale in October 12th at the Citrus Springs Community Center with the proceeds going to continue to increase the Genealogy Section research books. Jane Mazzacua explained that Citrus Springs Library Membership is open to county residents who live outside of Citrus Springs and there is no cost for the Library Membership.
The Withlacoochee Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution recently recognized the Homosassa Elementary School with two awards. 5th grade student, Maddy Campellone of Homosassa, received the second place cash award of $50 in the SAR Elementary School Americanism Poster Contest, depicting "The Battle of Guilford Courthouse", and the SAR "Outstanding Citizen Award Certificate". School Principal, Mr. Christopher Bosse, accepted a framed copy of the Constitution of the United States of America, a tribute to the school for participating in the poster contest for three consecutive years. The presentation took place at the school's Academic Award Ceremony.  Homosassa Elementary School Presentation, Principal Mr. Christopher Bosse Inverness Primary School Presentation, Principal Mrs. Marlise BushmanTwo Citrus County schools, Homosassa Elementary School and Inverness Primary School, were recognized by the Withlacoochee Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution for their interest and support of the SAR Elementary School Americanism Poster Contest. The contest is sponsored by the National Society of the SAR to create interest and enthusiasm in the 5th grade curriculum on American Revolutionary History. The SAR presented the two schools a framed copy of the Constitution of the United States of America for participating in the program for three consecutive years. Presenting the recognitions were SAR compatriots Harley Nelson and Norman Freyer. Accepting for the Homosassa Elementary School is Principal Mr. Christopher Bosse, and for the Inverness Primary School is Principal Mrs. Marlise Bushman.
