
The Ladies Auxiliary met at The Emperor’s Garden restaurant for lunch and continued to Marlene’s for dessert and a regular meeting. Present were Barbara Lincoln, Maryann Teater, Jean Nelson, Helen, Sue Camillo, Marlene Townsend, Armin Marvin, Sandy Bockhorst, Sondra Shinn, Diana Tyner.
TREASURY
The treasury balance is $780.42. One check was written to Dot Day for $25 dollars for apron patches. Another check was written to the State Auxiliary for $50 dollars to cover postage for packages sent to the soldiers in Iraq.
The Hush fund gained $10 dollars.
KID CENTRAL
Kid central was discussed and a day to construct coloring books will occur May 28, 2008 at Sandy Bockhorst’s home in Inverness. More info to follow.
BIRTHDAY IN A BAG
There were 4 “Birthday In A Bag”s delivered to the Citrus United Basket in the beginning of May.
RECIPE BOOKS
The recipe books were tabled in favor of a smaller version that more suited our needs. A Christmas version of a “Cookie Favorites” was discussed and accepted as a project for Christmas.
BIRTHDAY CARDS
Birthday cards were discussed and Diana Tyner graciously volunteered to do the cards for the Auxiliary women. Harold Marvin will do the cards for the SAR Men.
BOM
FLSSAR BOM took place on May 2,3,and 4th, with Withlacoochee taking home many awards. Dot Day won another basket and asked Sue Camillo to raffle it off at the next SAR meeting May 10th.
SAR TABLES FOR MAY
Jean Nelson’s idea for red, white, and blue hats was accepted and will be carried out by Jean and Marlene at the May 10th meeting.
FIRST FALL MEETING IN OCT
First fall meeting in October will be at Sandy Bockhorst’s house in Lacanto and more information will follow.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT
Develop a more defined organizational structure including the election of officers for the upcoming year that begins October 2008.
